Route 12 & North Street Improvements Project

Rail Trail Trestle Closure

Rail Trail Trestle Closure

🚧 Claremont Rail Trail Trestle Bridge Closure Notice 🚧

Beginning Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 7:00 a.m., the Rail Trail trestle bridge will be closed to all pedestrian and bicycle traffic while the bridge decking undergoes much-needed rehabilitation.

To ensure the safety of both the public and construction crews, the trail will be closed on both sides of the trestle bridge throughout the duration of the project. The closure is expected to last approximately one week, weather permitting.

We understand this section of the Rail Trail serves as an important connection for pedestrians and bicyclists traveling to and from Washington Street, and we apologize for the temporary inconvenience. This project is essential, as the existing bridge decking has significantly deteriorated and requires replacement to maintain a safe and accessible trail.

This rehabilitation project is being completed through a grant awarded to the Claremont Parks & Recreation Department, with a small local match provided by the City.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we complete these important improvements to preserve this valuable community asset.

If you have any questions, please contact the City of Claremont Department of Public Works at (603) 542-7020.

Thank you for your cooperation.
