Rethink Pleasant Street

PHASE ONE IS COMPLETE, PHASE TWO CONTINUES IN SPRING OF 2022!

Phase One of the Rethink Pleasant Street Revitalization Project has been completed and Phase Two construction continues in the Spring of 2022.

The focus of Phase One was underground construction and the rerouting of traffic on Pleasant Street. Pleasant Street reopened in late November as a one-way Southbound roadway following improvements to underground utilities, including the replacement of water and sewer lines.

The Phase Two aboveground construction will feature new sidewalks, lighting, benches, landscaping, a bicycle lane and angled vehicle parking. Pedestrian space will expand by 50% to allow for outdoor dining and seating and more foot traffic, inviting increased economic activity and socialization in Claremont’s historic City Center.
