The City of Claremont is requesting bids for the general maintenance for summer and winter of the Santagate Bridge, various steps and ramps on Water Street, Crescent Street, Fiske Free Library, and Visitors Center areas.  

Such winter maintenance will include, but not limited to, the following;

• Sidewalk and stair(s) snow clearing, as needed; to ensure pedestrian safety, in and around, Water Street, Crescent Street, Visitors Center, and the Fiske Free Library (As defined in attached aerial photos)
• Clearing snow/ice/debris on Santagate Bridge and some areas around the Visitors Center *** (As defined in attached aerial photos)
• Snow clearing/treating, as needed, on Water Street stairs, ramps, crosswalks, & sidewalks (As defined in attached aerial photos)
• Walkways in the front (Broad Street) and side (Barber Street) of the Fiske Free Library, including ramp, & the sidewalk and tip-down in sidewalk connecting the two walkways (As defined in attached aerial photos)
• Salting and sanding as needed; to ensure pedestrian safety

Such summer maintenance will include, but not limited to, the following;

• Lawn care of the Visitors Center area (weekly); as defined in attached aerial photos
• Lawn care of sides of road and entrance off Grissom Lane on Syd Clarke Park (monthly); as defined in attached aerial photos
• Lawn care of sides of road on Ashley Landing (monthly); as defined in attached aerial photos

*** The material used on the Santagate Bridge must be Green Scapes Ice Melter, (or approved equivalent), to ensure no chemicals are deposited into the water below.

Contractor shall be responsible for furnishing all materials, tools, equipment, labor and other services necessary to accomplish such tasks. 

The term of the agreement will be from October 1^st, 2022 to September 30^th, 2024.  With the ability to negotiate and extend another two (2) year agreement.

Bids must be submitted to the Office of the City Manager, 58 Opera House Square, Claremont, NH 03743, no later than September 8^th, 2022 at 10:00 AM, at which time they will be opened and publicly read aloud.  Please mark “General Maintenance” on the outside of the sealed envelope.
