TURF MANAGEMENT SUPPLIES AND CONSULTING SERVICES
The City of Claremont, Parks and Recreation Department is requesting proposals for turf management supplies and consulting services for multiple athletic fields in Claremont, NH.

GENERAL CONDITIONS:
The City of Claremont Parks and Recreation Department is seeking a qualified vendor to provide turf management supplies and consulting services for multiple athletic fields located in Claremont, New Hampshire for a contract period of one (1) year and may be extended for two additional one-year terms through the mutual agreement of the City of Claremont, Parks and Recreation Department and the contractor.
It is our intent to work with a vendor that has the ability and expertise to provide turf management consultation services, make product recommendations, educate staff, and provide appropriate turf management supplies.
The qualified vendor will be required to consult with the Claremont Superintendent of Parks and Staff a minimum of five (5) times throughout the season. Consultations to include site visits, assessment of current turf conditions, and various recommendations based on field and weather conditions, soil tests, current fiscal budget, and sports schedule.
The contractor will coordinate applications with the Superintendent. The Superintendent will have final authority on when applications shall be made.
BACKGROUND:
The City of Claremont Parks and Recreation Department manages over 40 acres of athletic fields which are used by multiple sports teams throughout the spring, summer, and fall seasons. Due to the high volume of use and the fact that these fields serve as the game and practices fields for multiple youth and adult leagues, high school athletics, private rentals, and department programs the goals of the turf management program are as follows:
Sports Turf Management Goals:
• Manage turf with the goal of long-term sustainability of soils and property.
• Minimize pesticide usage by growing healthy plants and managing nutrients effectively.
• Create plants and soils that efficiently utilize water.
• Manage turf growth such that biweekly and triweekly mowing maintains high turf quality.
• Manage plants with the most appropriate and effective materials.
• Enhance safety and playability of fields by improving turf density and cushion of turf areas.
• Improve plant quality and durability in and around high wear areas.
