Temporary Parks Maintenance
Position Summary:
Parks & Recreation Department is seeking to fill the position of Temporary Parks Maintenance
- Operates light to medium equipment including mowers, tractors, loaders, aerators, and small trucks
- Performs routine grounds maintenance: mowing, trimming, planting, watering, fertilizing, and weed control
- Maintains athletic fields, including lining, dragging, seeding, and general field preparation
- Supports park and facility upkeep including painting, cleaning, minor repairs, and general custodial work
- Assists with tree care including pruning, planting, and debris removal
- Picks up and disposes of litter, brush, and debris throughout parks and roadways
- Loads, unloads, and transports materials such as sand, soil, stone, and equipment
- Assists with set-up and breakdown of special events, including field layout, parking, and crowd support
- Cleans, services, and maintains park amenities including restrooms and public use areas
- Assists skilled staff with basic construction, repair, and maintenance projects (fencing, signage, playgrounds, etc.)
- Performs general labor tasks in support of parks, recreation facilities, and public works operations
- Follows all safety procedures and maintains a clean, organized work environment
- Performs other related duties as assigned
