Invitation to Bid
Pleasant Street Revitalization Project

Separate sealed bids for the reconstruction of Pleasant Street in Claremont, New Hampshire between Glidden Street and Opera House Square including the sewer main, water main, drain lines, other improvements including roadway and sidewalk reconstruction, streetscape improvements, traffic signal installation, and all other work as required to complete the project will be received by The City of Claremont at the City Manager’s Office, City Hall, 58 Opera House Square, Claremont, NH 03742 until 2:00 PM , Daylight Savings Time (prevailing clock) April 22, 2021 and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud.

1. Completion time for the project will be calculated as calendar days from the date specified in the “Notice to Proceed” as follows: One Hundred-Eighty (180) calendar days from the Notice to Proceed date for substantial completion and Two Hundred Ten (210) calendar days from the Notice to Procced date for final completion.  Liquidated damages will be in the amount of $600.00 for each calendar day of delay from the date established for substantial completion, and $600.00 for each calendar day of delay from the date established for final completion.

2. Each General Bid shall be accompanied by a Bid Security in the amount of 5% of the Total Bid Price.

3. The successful Bidder must furnish 100% Performance and Payment Bonds, and will be required to execute the Contract Agreement within 10 days following notification of the acceptance of his Bid.

4. No Bidder may withdraw a Bid within 60 days after the actual date of opening thereof.

Plans and Specifications will only be available, at no charge, in PDF format. Contractors may sign up for plans and download them directly from the internet by accessing McFarland Johnson’s bid portal by visiting https://bidportal.mjinc.com/bidportal/index under the project name “Claremont – Pleasant Street Revitalization Project”. The Bidders are responsible for checking the above website for all project updates including all Addenda.
