Hi everyone! The beat goes on....the beat goes on. And the Center is swinging, The membership meeting was great to say the least. It was so wonderful to see all of you again. We welcomed our new Executive Director Sauny Travis to our community. She is just delightful. If you missed the meeting, drop in to see her. She will officially take the helm on Mon. June 21.
And the beat goes on. A very nice volunteer will be in the house on Mondays mornings at the desk. Thank You so much. We can now be open all day Mondays-9am-3pm. We thank all the volunteers who stepped up to allow us to open. We still need two more for Friday and we will be fully open. Time needed are 9am-noon and noon -3pm. Call 543-5998 for more information.
The Foot Clinic will be at the Center on Wednesdays June 16 and June 23. The footsies need to be in great condition to take you for walks. Call 748-1731 for an appointment. The footsies will love you.
The Men's Breakfast will be on Mon. June 14. Doors will open at 8am. Serving starts at 8:15am.The volunteers will be serving Perfectly Round Pancakes, Golden Brown Sausages(or Crispy Bacon),Cold, Refreshing Juice and Coffee. Tom will introduce a speaker at about 8:45. Enjoy that second cup of coffee while listening. Members-$2,nonmembers-$3. Great food, lousy service. Open to the public. Sorry ladies. Men only.
And the beat goes on. From the Men's Breakfast to the menu for Tuesday and Thursday. This week is birthday cake Thursday.
Tues. June 15- Turkey Ala King over Rice. Dessert.
Thurs. June 17-Pork Loin, Baked Potato, Applesauce, Vegetable and Birthday Cake.
Take out only. Pick up-11:45am-12:15pm. Members-$4, nonmembers-$5. Call 543-5998 to reserve your meals. Open to the public.
Several people have asked about inside eating. With the Covid rules in place, it would take about 12 more kitchen volunteers to put the meal on the tables. Serving and cleaning rules are rigid and would require more help.
However, if you wanted to eat outside with friends, bring silverware, napkins and maybe tray tables. Lawn chairs can be placed in the shade or between cars. Sit in the shade, eat and visit with friends. Trash buns and used container bins will be available.
Please remember the Blood Drive on Mon. June 21. Call 1-800-REDCROSS for an appointment. Appointments are from Noon-5pm. Bring a friend and go for lunch after. Believe us, you have no idea how much they will appreciate your donation.
Over 300 prizes!! Several special raffles! Door prizes! Fun! Food! Fun! The biggest PENNY SALE ever will be on Sun. July 18. Door open at 11am. Drawings begin at 1pm. Come one! Come all! Something for everyone.
Music, Quiet surroundings Friends. Strawberry Shortcake. Ahhhh. Our first free concert will be on Sat. July 3-6;30pm-8pm. It will feature the East Bay Jazz Band sponsored by Crown Point Cabinetry. Our second free concert on Fri. Aug 8-6:30pm-8pm will welcome the Firehouse 6. Thank you Roz Caplan for sponsoring this entertainment. Ice Cream Sundaes will be available. Bring a comfortable chair and join your friends. Open to the public.
The next Car Show meeting will be on Wed. July 7-6:30pm. All volunteers are welcome to attend. Let us know where you would like to work. We welcome all help.
Surprise!! We are about to build a new, regulation set of horseshoe pits. We will keep you informed as to when they are ready.
On a closing note, our new director, Sauny Travis,will be in full swing on Mon. June 21. And the beat goes on.
Hours:Monday-Thursday-9am-3pm.Closed Friday(for now). Game Nights-Tuesdays and Thursdays-6pm-9pm. Meal pick-up-11:45-12:15. Activities-anytime. Bring a friend and enjoy.
