Claremont Police Department

The Claremont Police Department is scheduled for a site-based assessment as part of a program to maintain its Accredited status by verifying that it meets professional standards.

Administered by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA©), the Accreditation program requires agencies to comply with state-of-the-art standards in four basic areas: policy and procedures, administration, operations, and support services.

As part of the on-site assessment, agency personnel and members of the community are invited to offer comments at a public information session on Tuesday, June 18th, at 7:00 PM. The session will be held at the Claremont Savings Bank Community Center at 152 South Street, Claremont, NH.

Agency employees and the public are also invited to offer comments by calling 603-558-1881 between the hours of 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM on June 18th. Comments will be taken by the Assessment Team.

Telephone comments as well as appearances at the public session are limited to 10 minutes and must address the agency’s ability to comply with CALEA standards. A copy of the standards is available for viewing at the Claremont Police Department by contacting Chief Mark T. Chase.

Anyone wishing to offer written comments about the Claremont Police Department’s ability to meet the standards for Accreditation are requested to write: Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement, Inc. (CALEA©), 13575 Heathcote Boulevard, Suite 320, Gainesville, Virginia 20155 or www.calea.org.
