The City of Claremont has received an EPA Brownfields Cleanup Subgrant from the Capital Regional Development Council Revolving Loan Fund (RLF) to remediate environmental contamination at the former Pleasant Restaurant property.  As a requirement of receiving those funds, the City of Claremont is making public this notification. This provides public notice of the availability of the Analysis of Brownfields Cleanup Alternatives (ABCA) for environmental cleanup to be conducted at the above referenced property, for public review and comment.  This ABCA was prepared as a requirement of the awarded RLF subgrant.  The ABCA document, as well as previous environmental assessment documents for the Site, can be reviewed at the Planning and Development Department at the Visitors Center, 14 North Street in Claremont, New Hampshire 03743, Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.  This also provides notice that comments on the ABCA and on the proposed remediation of the former Pleasant Restaurant property can be submitted in writing to Credere Associates, LLC, 776 Main Street, Westbrook, Maine 04092, Attention: Mr. Judd Newcomb at (207) 828-1272 ext. 16 or jnewcomb@crederellc.com.  The public comment period for these documents begins April 9, 2018, and ends May 9, 2018.  A Public Meeting concerning the ABCA and on the proposed remediation of the former Pleasant Restaurant property will be held on Monday, April 23, 2018 at 5:30 AM at the Planning & Development Department, 14 North Street, Claremont, NH 03743.    Public comments on the ABCA and on the proposed remediation will also be accepted at this meeting.
