ASSESSING CLERK

The City of Claremont’s Assessing Office has an opening for a full time Assessing Clerk.    Responsibilities include assisting the public regarding assessing needs, answering telephone calls, answering inquiries and issues pertaining to assessing functions and operations of the department.  The selected candidate for this position must posses extensive knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel programs, display excellent  customer service skills, must be able to maintain confidentiality, the ability to make accurate arithmetic calculations - attention to detail and accuracy is a must.  Minimum qualifications of a high school diploma with course work in basic office practices and secretarial skills necessary.  Interested candidates should have knowledge of assessing functions, processes, and NH State tax laws Real Estate and/or Appraising experience a plus. This is a union position - hourly wage up to $17.90 depending upon knowledge, education & abilities. Hourly wages are enhanced with paid vacation, sick time, personal days, health, dental, and enrollment into the New Hampshire Retirement System.

PART-TIME GROUNDSKEEPER POSITION
PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT


The City of Claremont is accepting applications for a part-time Groundskeeper in the Parks and Recreation Department.  The Individual will work with the full-time Parks Ground Maintenance worker in maintaining various athletic fields, public grounds and parks.  This position requires basic skills in equipment operation of hand tools, mowers and tractors & equipment maintenance, knowledge of field maintenance and grounds keeping,  the ability to lift 24 to 50 pounds.   Hours are Monday through Friday for 28 hours per week.  Hourly wages are $7.25 - $15.00 depending on experience.

Candidates must successfully complete pre-employment requirements which include criminal background checks, physical and drug screen.

COMMUNICATION SPECIALISTS / PART-TIME AND FULL TIME JOBS AVAILABLE 


The Claremont Police Dept. is looking for full/part time Communication Specialists.  Communications Specialists are responsible for answering emergency and non-emergency phone calls and dispatching information via radio to police, fire, emergency medical services, and other emergency services.  Other responsibilities include maintaining a log of all calls received including the nature of the call, location, and applicable response information.  Communication Specialists serve as receptionists at the Claremont Police Dept. as well as performing a variety of clerical duties.  The selected candidates must posses the abilities to communicate and interact well, effectively, and efficiently with the public, as well as with other staff and agencies that are responsible for responding to the situation.  Selected candidates must also posses the abilities to think and act quickly while remaining calm and calming others, to focus on the immediate situation and act accurately under stressful emergency and non-emergency situations. Individuals must be team players with strong communications, computer and keyboarding skills! 

Full time wage starts at $16.25 per hour
Part time wage range is $7.25 to $14.00 per hour.

 CALL FIREFIGHTERS

The City of Claremont is accepting applications for part-time call fire fighters. Call fire fighters are responsible for responding to emergencies situations and are paid hourly in an annual stipend according to their attendance. Interested applicants must be in good physical condition applicable to fire fighting.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 18 years of age;
  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • Valid New Hampshire Driver’s license; and
  • Must reside within 15 minutes of the fire station.

Claremont Savings Bank Community Center (CSBCC) has an immediate opening for a Head Swim Coach for the Claremont Tiger Sharks to take our program to the next level. Our new Community Center is home to an 8-lane, 25-yard pool with an additional warm water therapy/lesson pool. We are looking for a passionate coach who is ready to lead our growing program. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: roster management, running practice for workout groups, writing practices, developing training plans and goals, attending coaches; meetings, communicating with parents/conduct parent meetings, some basic facility management/aquatics responsibilities, and working with professional staff as needed to develop additional programming or revenue areas. LIFEGUARDS

Parks & Recreation Department is seeking to fill the position(s) of Lifeguards. Life guarding responsibilities include monitoring participant's safety in the pool, maintenance of the pool, pool area, and locker rooms, maintaining records of pool usage, chemical testing and maintaining proper water balances in the pool.
The successful candidate must be a proficient swimmer. Prior lifeguard experience preferred but will train qualified individuals. The selected candidate must successfully pass pre-employment requirements of a physical, drug screening, and criminal background search.
Wages start at $7.25 per hour through $12.00 depending upon experience. Hours of work may vary depending upon the staffing needs of the department.
CERTIFICATIONS:
  • American Red Cross Lifeguard Training (or equivalent)
  • CPR for the Professional Rescuer
