 BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST

Qualifications:  The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree with major course work in business development, marketing, business or public administration, or related field.  Two years responsible experience with municipal, state or federal government or performing work related to business development in private business; or any combination of education or training which provides the required knowledge skills, and abilities required for the job.

 DPW SEASONAL POSITIONS

The City of Claremont is accepting applications for seasonal positions in the Department of Public Works. Individuals will be required to use powered equipment such as lawn mowers and weed whackers and must be able to perform physical duties such as raking and lifting. Must be 18 years of age. Seasonal hours are 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM, Mon. – Fri, weather permitting. Hourly wages are $9.00 - $12.00. Candidates must successfully complete pre-employment requirements which include criminal background checks, physical and drug screen.

COMMUNICATION SPECIALISTS / PART-TIME 

The Claremont Police Dept. is looking for part time Communication Specialists.  Communications Specialists are responsible for answering emergency and non-emergency phone calls and dispatching information via radio to police, fire, emergency medical services, and other emergency services.  Other responsibilities include maintaining a log of all calls received including the nature of the call, location, and applicable response information.  Communication Specialists serve as receptionists at the Claremont Police Dept. as well as performing a variety of clerical duties.  The selected candidates must posses the abilities to communicate and interact well, effectively, and efficiently with the public, as well as with other staff and agencies that are responsible for responding to the situation.  Selected candidates must also posses the abilities to think and act quickly while remaining calm and calming others, to focus on the immediate situation and act accurately under stressful emergency and non-emergency situations. Individuals must be team players with strong communications, computer and keyboarding skills! 

Part time wage range is $7.25 to $14.00 per hour.

The City of Claremont is seeking an experienced minute taker for our Boards and Commission meetings. These meetings can be held during the day and some evenings. LIFEGUARDS

Parks & Recreation Department is seeking to fill the position(s) of Lifeguards. Life guarding responsibilities include monitoring participant's safety in the pool, maintenance of the pool, pool area, and locker rooms, maintaining records of pool usage, chemical testing and maintaining proper water balances in the pool.
The successful candidate must be a proficient swimmer. Prior lifeguard experience preferred but will train qualified individuals. The selected candidate must successfully pass pre-employment requirements of a physical, drug screening, and criminal background search.
Wages start at $7.25 per hour through $12.00 depending upon experience. Hours of work may vary depending upon the staffing needs of the department.
CERTIFICATIONS:
  • American Red Cross Lifeguard Training (or equivalent)
  • CPR for the Professional Rescuer
