The City of Claremont operates under a City Council/City Manager form of government. City Council members are elected every two years. Elections are held in November.

The City Council is responsible for:

  • establishing City policies,
  • establishing procedures, and
  • fiscal management.

Public Hearings Notice
Community Development Block Grant Project

The Claremont City Council will hold two consecutive Public Hearings on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at 7:00pm at the City Hall, 58 Opera House Square, Claremont, New Hampshire. Community Development Block Grant funds are available to municipalities through the NH Community Development Finance Authority. Up to $500,000 annually is available for economic development projects, up to $500,000 for public facility and housing projects, up to $500,000 for emergency activities, and
up to $12,000 is available per planning study grant. All CDBG projects must primarily benefit low and moderate income persons. The public hearings will hear public comment on the following:

1.    A proposed application to the Community Development Finance Authority for up to $500,000 in Community Development Block Grant funds for the acquisition, rehabilitation, relocation and expansion of Turning Point Network’s services in Claremont.  Turning Point Network serves primarily low and moderate income persons.

2.    And the Residential Antidisplacement and Relocation Assistance Plan.

For persons with special needs, provisions can be made by contacting the City Manager’s Office, via telephone or mail, at least five days prior to the public hearing.
