City Center Initiative committee

The City Center Initiative is a one-year program to implement goals in the area of business environment, neighborhood stability, transportation, energy, and zoning.


The Steering Committee of Claremont, New Hampshire’s City Center Project is
committed to engaging community stakeholders in transformational activities

  • Preserve and maintain our historic cityscape,
  • Encourage economic investment and revitalization,
  • Improve the quality of residential and commercial property,
  • Improve vehicular and pedestrian travel mode choices and needed infrastructure,
  • Encourage use of underutilized space,
  • Encourage redevelopment that maximizes existing city infrastructure, for the future benefit of those who live in, work in, and visit the City of Claremont

The Planning and Development Department is pleased to announce the release the Final Report of the Downtown Parking Survey. The Report was created - at no cost to the city - by the Cecil Group of Boston, MA, with help from city staff, volunteers, and members of the City Center Initiative Committee.
