Sidewalk & Rail Trail Improvements Project
Transportation Alternative Program (TAP)

Sealed proposals for the Claremont 40435, Sidewalk & Rail Trail Improvements Project will be received at the City of Claremont, ("The OWNER"), City Manager’s Office, 58 Opera House Square, Claremont, NH 03743, until 2:00 p.m. (local time), Friday October 5, 2018 and will be opened and read aloud. Bids received after the specified time will not be accepted. The active construction is anticipated to run between May and June 2019. Bidders should note that the prices contained in the proposal will be considered valid for the duration of the construction project.

This Federally funded Transportation Alternative Program (TAP) project involves installing sidewalk on the south side of East Street between Pleasant Street and Broad Street (approximately 1,600 feet), including ADA compliant ramps and crosswalks. Additionally, the project will also include surface improvements to the rail trail between Pleasant Street and Chestnut Street (approximately 2,400 ft.), provide pedestrian crossing improvements at its intersections with Broad Street and Chestnut Street, and formalize the trailhead parking area at Pleasant Street.

Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by the ENGINEER in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda delivered to all parties recorded by Spillers Reprographics, Manchester, NH, as having received the Bidding Documents. Questions received less than five days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered. Only questions answered by formal written Addenda will be binding. Oral and other interpretations or clarifications will be without legal effect.

Disadvantaged Business Enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this advertisement. No contractor will be discriminated against on grounds of race, sex, religion, color, or national origin.

Bidders will be required to furnish a bid bond in the amount of 10% of the total bid, and the successful bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond each in the amount of 100% of the Contract Price.

All individuals, firms, partnerships, or corporations intending to bid must be prequalified with the New Hampshire Department of Transportation for Road Construction or Site Work. Prequalification must be established no less than three days prior to the bid date.

CIVIL ENGINEERING AND STREETSCAPE DESIGN SERVICES
FOR PLEASANT STREET REVITALIZATION

GENERAL
The City of Claremont (City) is currently inviting Qualification Statements from engineering design teams to perform Professional Services for the Pleasant Street Revitalization Project. Requested services include preliminary engineering and design of a city center project area, to include streets, surface and sub-surface utilities, sidewalks, landscaping, water, sewer, lights, and parking.
The Pleasant Street project begins at Opera House Square and terminates at Glidden Street, approximately 660 linear feet of existing 2 lane roadway and sidewalk, and also includes ancillary parking areas behind existing buildings. The roadway lies within the urban compact of the City of Claremont New Hampshire.

The City seeks a consulting design team with experience in place-based contextual design that will reflect the particulars of the project area in a nationally designated historic district and contemplate contemporary new urban features. Pleasant Street Revitalization Project deliverables would include report and designs, as well as project construction cost estimates to proceed with funding and construction phase services.

The team selected may be engaged for the implementation of the project.

The City proposes to begin the engineering/design work in October 2018 with final product completed by April 2019.

A required pre-bid meeting will be held on Friday, September 7, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. to begin at City Hall, 58 Opera House Square, Claremont, NH 03743.

Deadline

REQUEST FOR DEVELOPERS

Development of the former Claremont Junior Sports League Building
Proposal Due Date:  Friday, September 28, 2018

The City of Claremont invites Statements of Interest from qualified buyers/developers for the purchase and renovation of a 17,574 square foot two level building on School Street in Claremont, NH. 
The City is highly interested in receiving submissions proposing a use that would support economic development.  Responses should describe proposed end use and information on the buyer or development team.
Statements of interest and qualifications are to be received in a sealed envelope no later than Friday, September 28, 2018 by 2:00 p.m. at the City Manager’s office, 58 Opera House Square, Claremont, NH 03743 with purchase price offered in a separate sealed envelope. Statements must be clearly marked 45 School Street Building.
Specifications are available in the Planning and Development office at 504-0340 or by email at newbiz@claremontnh.com.  All responders are encouraged to meet with the Planning and Development staff and to visit the site.  The City of Claremont reserves the right to reject any and all proposals.
