The City of Claremont, Parks & Recreation Department, was recently awarded a grant from the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) and is seeking proposals for the design and replacement of the Monadnock Park playground. This project will include relocating the playground to a new location within Monadnock Park. 

The sealed proposal is due no later than 2 PM EST on Friday, March 16th, 2018.

Scope of Services:

  • The new structure will need to fit within a 53’-4’’ X 44’-10’’ footprint.
  • The play structure is to be  recommended for children ages 5-12.
  • Structure should have a minimum of 21 total play components with at least 11 of them elevated.
  • Play structure needs to meet ADA requirements with at least 9 elements being accessible by transfer and 10 components accessible from ground level.
  • User capacity is to be a minimum of 35-45 individuals.
  • Play structure needs to include a minimum of 4 slides with at least one slide being a one-piece spiral slide; All slides set at a minimum of 6’ critical fall height.
  • Play Structure to include Netted Activities with a minimum of 10 play experiences connected to a platform with a minimum of 8' Critical Fall Heights.  These activities should include Vertical and Horizontal Climbing as well as Bouldering Play and Climbing activities.
  • Main Structure needs to have a minimum of 4 visor/roof for protection from sun.
  • Final price is to include all equipment delivered to site and provide at least 2 days of onsite technical support for staff and volunteer installation.
  • Work to be performed during normal business hours.  Completion of work to be prior to August 10, 2018.
  • Please provide a technical drawing that includes measurements of all components.
  • Please include 2 pictures of actual playgrounds.  One from each side.

Please provide a list of three commercial references in New England where you have recently completed a complete playground design, delivery and supervision for the installation.    

The company providing the technical assistance will provide the adequate insurance coverage upon request before the start of the community build. 

All parties involved shall exercise the utmost care when working in the public park. All parties involved shall be responsible for, and indemnify and hold the City harmless from all damage to the facility that may occur during the project.  Any damage that may occur shall be reported to the City immediately.   

Incomplete Information
Failure to complete or provide any of the information requested in this RFP, including references, and/or additional information as indicated, may result in disqualification.      
Proposals are to be received in a sealed envelope no later than Friday, March 16, 2018 at 2 PM when bids will be opened.
