The City of Claremont is located in Sullivan County, New Hampshire.  It operates under a City Council/City Manager form of government. A nine member City Council is elected, and elections are held in November. The City Council is responsible for establishing City policies, procedures, and the budget.

The City Manager is appointed by the City Council. The manager is responsible for supervising and conducting the day-to-day operations and affairs of the City and carrying out the policies established by the City Council.

Various Boards, Committees, and Commissions are established by the City Council. Vacancies on these committees are advertised in the local newspaper and are posted in City Hall. For more information, please contact the Planning and Development Office at 542-7008.
