- LOCAL CONCERNS MEETING
The Public is invited to attend a Local Concerns Meeting on Thursday May 23, 2013 at 6:00 PM at 14 North Street, Waypoint Visitor Center in Claremont, NH. The City’s consultant, Vanasse Hangen Brustlin, Inc. (VHB), and City staff will be presenting information on the proposed Intersection Improvement Project. The intent of the meeting is to collect input from the public, municipal officials, regulatory and resource agencies, and abutting property owners on their concerns relative to the existing conditions at the North Street/ Main Street (Route 12/Route 103) intersection, including approach roadways. The project limits on North Street are from Grandview Street to Route 12. The project limits on Route 12 are approximately from the Lambert Building Supply store to a point just south of Bunnell’s Parts and Accessories store. A review of the existing site conditions, proposed improvements, and schedule will be followed by a question, answer and comment period. - OFF BROAD STREET PLAYERS PRESENT:
Off Broad Street Players (OBSP) will pay tribute to the classic mystery writer, Ellery Queen, with the production of two 1940’s era radio shows starring the popular amateur detective. Show dates are Wednesday May 8 at 7 pm and Saturday May 11 at 2pm and 7pm at the First United Methodist Church, Sullivan Street, Claremont. The plays will be performed on stage as if they were live radio show broadcasts. Cast members will take on multiple roles, creating different voices for each character and a sound effects crew will produce that memorable aspect of early radio. Members of the audience will be challenged to try to solve the mystery before the murderer is revealed.Cast members are Brian Bevacqua, Mary Carter, Mike Grace, Kara Lee, Meredith Lewko, Scott Magnuson, Stan Marro, Eric Peirce, Julie Richardson, Arthur Vidro and Dori Yacono. The show is directed by Sharon Wood. OBSP has permission from The Frederic Dannay Literary Property Trust and The Manfred B. Lee Family Literary Property Trust to perform the original radio scripts.Admission is by donation, with $10 suggested but all donations welcomed.
