  • CIVIL WAR BATTLE FLAGS AT THE CLAREMONT HISTORY MUSEUM ON FRIDAY JULY 6TH
    Dave Nelson, Chairman of the New Hampshire Battle Flag Preservation Society, will present a program about Civil War Battle Flags at the Claremont History Museum, 26 Mulberry Street, Claremont, NH on Friday, July 6 at 6:30pm. Nelson is a member of the NH Sons of Union Veterans and a reenactor with the 5th NH Regiment. He will speak about the history and importance of battle flags to the men who followed them into battle and protected them with their lives. The museum will be open from 5 to 7:30 pm for the first in a series of three First Fridays at the Museum programs this summer. The current exhibit, "Claremont in the Civil War Years," may be viewed before the program and afterwards until closing.   • CLAREMONT FARMERS MARKET
    Fresh local produce, crafts, and character is the Claremont Farmers’ and Artisans' Market. The Claremont Farmers‘ & Artisans’ Market returns for the season from 4pm to 7pm on Thursdays at its customary spot in the Broad Street Park next to City Hall. West Claremont Center for Music and the Arts has arranged music for the entire Market season. Parking is readily available. The fare at the Market include artisan breads, cheeses, beef, fresh farm eggs, salsas, jams, jellies, pickles, honey along with vegan and organic items. With the addition of some new faces to the Board of Directors, the Claremont Farmers‘ Market Association, a group made up of vendors and community members will be charged with the task of overseeing market operations and the community outreach and planning for the markets long-term sustainability. The 2012 season runs every Thursday June 7 - Sept. 27. The Claremont Farmers’ and Artisans‘ Market is still looking for volunteers for the upcoming season for everything from staffing the information table to donating professional services such as web design or photography.
